Marketing Centrum Münster
The Institute of Marketing (IfM) is among the most renowned marketing programs in Germany, directed by Prof. Dr. Manfred Krafft. Since its founding in 1969 by Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. Heribert Meffert, the Institute of Marketing has stood for well-founded, practice-oriented marketing research and education. In addition to its national and international orientations, IfM adopts the “3-Column Concept,” which stresses its core competencies and ensures the Institute’s holistic focus on research and education. The core concepts centre around Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Direct Marketing, and Sales Management. Each area is organized as a competence centre, responsible for its own research and education agenda and various cross-sectional tasks. The core competencies include method applications and empirical, quantitative research. Further information regarding the content and organization of the research focuses can be found here.
Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. Heribert Meffert’s research team continues to work on topics regarding general marketing and brand management. Guided by Prof. Dr. Meffert, the research institution Research on Railway Marketing also is studying how to market public transportation and tourism services, as it has since 1994. The non-profit marketing competence centre conducts research regarding the management, governance, and control of non-profit organisations.
